More...Patrick Minks studied Drama and Film at the University of Amsterdam before he went to the Dutch Film Academy where he graduated as a film editor in 1992. During the 1990s he also worked as a film critic for the Dutch film magazine Skrien. As a film editor he worked with acclaimed directors such as Heddy Honigmann, Jos de Putter, John Appel, Eugenie Jansen, Hany Abu-Assad, Walter Stokman and Masha Novikova.

In 1999 he wrote and directed 100%, a 30 minute short which was broadcast by public network VPRO. The teleplay Life after Mrs. de Nijs followed in 2001, also for VPRO TV. The same year he wrote, shot and directed a mockumentary in collaboration with Dutch theatre group Kassys, which was part of their award winning stage performance Boss hits man.
He subsequently developed several screenplays with support of the Dutch Film Fund. With the screenplay Atlantis@nowhere he attended the 2010 Sources 2 Script Workshop of the European Media Programme. In 2008 he produced, directed and edited the short film Final. It premiered at the Dutch Film Festival that year and was broadcast by Propeller TV in the UK and the Shorts TV Channel in the US and Europe.
Patrick co-wrote the screenplay for Eugenie Jansens third feature film Above us all that premiered at the Berlinale in 2014. In 2018 his first feature documentary Michel, actor loses the words was released in Dutch and Belgian theatres.
